Dip Tank

Plant 2, New Annan, PE
1/2
Our project is working with Cavendish Farms to implement a sugar monitoring system in Plant 2
Problem
The current method for measuring sugar content in the dip tank is taking a sample to a YSI Benchtop Analyzer. This process takes 15 minutes and is only completed once every hour, causing lag in adjustments.

Design
The designed solution uses a UR24 (High Accuracy Version) refractometer paired with a steam line cleaning system and a blank spool for easy removal.
Testing
Benchtop and on-site testing was performed to prove that the design would measure sugar concentrations of the dip tank with an accuracy of +/- 5% and satisfy all other requirements.
